MENTORING/TEACHING
I've enjoying the challenge of working with mentees at different stages in their careers. I advised Jo Scorah whilst she created work for her solo exhibition Moments of expulsion, referencing the collapse of Syria. Previous mentees include Alana Tyson, whilst she created Interior at Ruthin Craft Centre; and Helen Parrott, creating Nine yards or thereabouts, inspired by the Bradford Textile Archive. Mentoring can involve working towards a specific goal, such as an exhibition, or more general career coaching. Anyone else wanting mentoring please get in touch. I love teaching and welcome opportunities for individual or small group teaching, one-off lectures, dissertation supervision and marking. Group crits also undertaken. Manchester/NorthWest area. EDITING I have extensive editorial experience and am available for editing work. CONTACT |
PROCESSIONS BANNER PROJECT
I was thrilled to be invited by Mostyn/CALL Llandudno to be their lead artist for the Artichoke mass participation Processions project, celebrating 100 years of (some) women getting the vote in the UK. TEXTILE STUDY GROUP - curated exhibition I loved working with the Textile Study Group on DIS/rupt, their exhibition shown as the main event at the Stroud SitSelect International Textiles Festival in 2017, and I was thrilled to work with them again on Insights alongside June Hill. EXTERNAL EXAMINING I completed my final year examining the MA Crafts and Design courses at UCA Farnham in 2018. I've really enjoyed my time working with the dedicated staff there, and seeing the students progress. ARTHUR + MARTHA I have helped out at quite a few of arthur+martha's workshops over the last year, it's always such a privilege to be a part of their extraordinary projects. http://www.artshealthandwellbeing.org.uk/case-studies/homeless-library http://www.derbyshirelives.uk/commemorations/stitching-the-wars |
